Indoor Air Quality

"I consider Aires to be the consummate Professionals. When my clients have a problem, they are the people I call."
            Scott Nemanich, Attorney at Law
            Hinshaw & Culbertson

Indoor Air Quality, Mold, Lead and Asbestos are some of today's most prominent concerns among schools, office buildings, factories, retirement communities and hospitals, with indoor air pollution consistently ranking among the top five environmental risks to public health.

We at Aires take a practical and cost effective approach to indoor air issues. We feel the key to these issues is through understanding. Aires has found that where IAQ issues are a concern, those involved are often misinformed. This lack of knowledge and information often brings about the reaction of fear when situations are identified. This could result in ill-advised and costly responses.

Our experienced professionals have assisted many clients in developing practical responses to situations. We are not only capable of performing focused air evaluations, but also are skilled in communicating our findings to all interested parties.

"...District 226 is pleased to officially recognize Aires Consulting Group of Batavia, Illinois for their assistance in resolving indoor air quality issues within our District Buildings. NEW CONSTRUCTION

New construction has traditionally shown potential for significant IAQ problems. By conducting IAQ studies at the earliest possible stages we can identify potential concerns while contractors are still available to make necessary changes. IAQ monitoring visits should be implemented during critical phases:

  • Foundation and associated drainage
  • Building under roof
  • Installation of mechanical systems
  • Various phases of insulation
  • Inspection before Gypsum wall board enclosure

Aires' construction inspectors are especially trained in IAQ issues. By having Aires' IAQ professionals on-site during critical phases of construction, changes can be implemented that will not affect the project budget or schedule. Frequently when these problems are identified too late there is a negative impact on occupancy.

Aires' will also work with the Architect and Engineers during the design phase to examine, from an IAQ perspective, the potential for IAQ issues. Some of the issues examined are as follows:

  • Ventilation for fresh air dilution, humidity and temperature control
  • Laboratory air contaminant control
  • Air Contaminant control in Technical shop area
  • Material choices for maintenance and Mold issues
  • Insulation for condensation Control
  • Protection of building material contract language
  • Radon control

"...In addition to the collection of data you did an outstanding job of sharing the information with the parents, community, media, administration and staff. Following the meeting, I felt there was clarification as to the findings and the plan for the future..."

Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202
