Brownfield/Voluntary Cleanup

Brownfields are abandoned, unused, industrial and commercial properties that vary in size, location, age, and past use and have the potential for redevelopment, but have actual or perceived contamination.

Redeveloping a Brownfield encompasses the transformation of an environmentally challenged property into a productive property. The process of turning a Brownfield into an economically feasible property is a highly involved collaboration of both federal and state regulatory agencies, consultants and developers.

Aires understands that under-utilized or abandoned commercial or industrial properties are an obstruction to economic development. Blighted and environmentally impaired properties harm both a community's image and tax base.

Aires completed one of the first Brownfield sites in the Midwestern United States. We have a multi-disciplined team available to assist you in the investigation or remediation phase of potential Brownfield sites.

We provide the following services with regards to Brownfields:

  • Environmental Indemnification
  • Application submittals for federal or state grant programs
  • Site Assessments
  • Sampling & Monitoring
  • Analysis
  • Assist with redevelopment

We work with federal and state regulatory agencies on Brownfield projects from 'beginning to end' as well as assisting in various stages of the project's redevelopment after cleanup. We work closely with all city, state and federal officials to ensure that all proper remediation guidelines are followed. Our focus is on the quality of the environment and maintain that focus throughout the entire project.
